Will my home address be visible on Companies House?
It can be if you use it as the registered office, a public service address or elsewhere on filed documents. A director’s usual residential address is normally kept off the public register, but that does not protect the same address when used in a public field. Check each address separately.

Distinguish public and residential address fields
Companies House holds different addresses for different purposes. A company's registered office is public, and a director's service address is also shown on the public register. The usual residential address supplied as a director's home address is normally held privately, although specified organisations can receive it under the relevant rules. Using the same home address for both private and public fields does not make the public entry private. People with significant control have similar address considerations. Before filing, check where each address will appear. The question is not simply whether Companies House knows your home address, but which documents and public fields contain it.
Choose a suitable public address before filing
If you want to keep your home address out of public address fields, arrange a suitable alternative before incorporation or an appointment filing. A registered office must meet the appropriate address rules, be in the correct UK jurisdiction and be somewhere official correspondence can be dealt with properly. You need permission to use another person's or provider's address. A service address also needs reliable arrangements for receiving communications. Do not select an address solely because it looks private or inexpensive. Check what the provider includes, how mail is forwarded and what happens if the service ends, so privacy arrangements do not cause missed statutory correspondence.
Deal with addresses already on the register
Changing a current address does not automatically remove it from older filings. Search the company record and identify the documents containing your home address. Companies House has an application process for removing eligible personal details, including home addresses used in certain public fields. A current registered office usually needs to be changed before an application to suppress that address can proceed. Eligibility, required information and fees should be checked against the current guidance. Removal from Companies House also does not guarantee that third-party websites or copies already obtained will disappear. Keep a list of affected documents so any application addresses the actual exposure rather than only the latest entry.
Keep privacy and filing accuracy together
Review registered office, service and residential addresses separately whenever you move, change provider or take on a new company role. Tell the person responsible for filings which details need updating and confirm the changes were accepted. Do not supply a false home address to avoid publication; use the correct private field and a suitable public alternative. If safety concerns involve violence or intimidation, separate protection procedures may be relevant. CASS can discuss filing support and any address services actually available under an agreed arrangement. Confirm eligibility and scope before using a CASS address. A sensible setup protects privacy while keeping company records accurate and official mail accessible.
