It's a place of two quite different economies, and we're comfortable in both. Around Mere Green, Four Oaks and the Parade you'll find consultancies, dental and healthcare practices, professional firms and independent retailers — mostly director-run, often with salary and dividends to think about. Out at Minworth it's trade counters, light industrial units and distribution, where the questions are about margins, plant and keeping VAT straight.
There's a practical quirk worth knowing about too. Because Sutton Coldfield falls under Birmingham City Council for business rates and licensing while having its own town council, we've had plenty of clients arrive unsure which authority they're actually dealing with.
